ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2008 WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!

The 136th Session of the Carolina Region Annual Conference is now in the history books!  From July 27-August 1, the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center was transformed into a house of worship, and God truly made His presence known to all!  On behalf of Pastor Barnes, we say "thank you" to Bishop Hoyt, Mrs. Hoyt, our presiding elders, pastors, ministers, delegates, officers, attendees and volunteers.  Community CME Church was honored to host the conference in Columbia, and we look forward to seeing you in Raleigh-Durham next year!

COMMUNITY STARTS A TEEN AFTER-SCHOOL CENTER!

Community CME Church has partnered with Ebenezer Lutheran Church to begin a Teen After-School Center (TASC)!  "Teens on TASC" will be a four-day-per-week afterschool program that provides academic assistance, job & life skills training, recreation, and more to young people in Eau Claire.  "Teens on TASC" is made possible through a grant from the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.  For more information, email TeensOnTASC@communitycme.org

Community Christian Methodist Episcopal Church is a dynamic church on the move!  For twenty-five years, Community has been a powerful force for change.  Located in the Eau Claire community of northern Columbia, Community is truly rooted in the neighborhood and dedicated to spiritual growth and social change.

Under the leadership of Rev. Joiquim L. Barnes, Community has expanded its ministries and outreach to meet the needs of its neighbors.  Come check out the wonderful things that are happening at Community CME Church!

Members of Community traveled to Walterboro, South Carolina to fellowship with St. Paul CME Church on their 140th Anniversary.  Here, Community's members take a photo with Bishop Thomas Hoyt and Mrs. Hoyt (right), Elder Jimmy Gilbert, and St. Paul's pastor Rev.
